On the evening of February 17th, 2021, nine juvenile bystanders, including a 5-year-old boy were injured in a shooting at a Shell gas station in Columbus, Georgia.

The circumstances of the event appear to have begun as a fight at a nearby party, resulting in a senseless act of violence that left the victims hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Seven of the injured have since been discharged.

In response, Columbus police launched an investigation and identified two suspects in the shooting: 35-year-old D’Angelo Robinson Sr. and a 15-year-old boy, who has been identified as a validated gang member.

Both suspects have been charged in relation to the incident, with Robinson Sr. offered eight counts of aggravated assault and the minor one count and is currently being held in the Regional Youth Detention Center.

The families of the victims are seeking justice in the wake of this tragedy, and investigations remain underway in their pursuit of such.

With further charges pending, law enforcement remains determined to bring the perpetrators to account and send a signal that these kinds of acts will not be tolerated.
