Federal agents discovered a massive weapons cache and Nazi paraphernalia during a raid on a Washington state home this week, following a theft at a nearby military base that resulted in the loss of military equipment.
FBI SWAT teams executed a search warrant late Monday night at a residence in Lacey.
Law enforcement seized an extensive arsenal, which included an MG42 machine gun, a World War II-era German weapon used by German troops.
Agents also seized short-barrel rifles, grenade launchers, explosives, body armor, ammunition, and ballistic helmets.
Multiple rifles had been strategically staged at windows throughout the residence. Agents also discovered scores of Nazi paraphernalia.
The US Army’s Criminal Investigation Division had requested assistance as a result of a violent robbery and theft of military weaponry and armor on Sunday at Joint Base Lewis-McCord, located just north of Olympia.
Two suspects were arrested during the raid and booked into Thurston County Jail for investigation of firearms-related offenses.
Both are expected to make their initial appearances Wednesday afternoon at U.S. District Court in Tacoma.
“The suspects identified in this case were actively involved in Nazi White Nationalist efforts,” Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday, announcing the raid results.
