- How to Link Your Digital Wallet to Your VeeFriends Account And Why It’s Essentialby VeeFriends on August 14, 2025
VeeFriends is always evolving and whether you’re here for the art, the community, or the collectibles, now is the time to prepare. By linking your wallet to your VeeFriends profile, you ensure you’re ready for the next chapter in the VeeFriends ecosystem. From token-gated discounts to exclusive claims and future access opportunities, wallet verification is your key to unlocking the full range of benefits your digital assets may offer. It’s a simple action today that opens the door to a world of experiences tomorrow. This blog will walk you through why it matters, how it works, and the secure methods for connecting your wallets. Why You Need to Link Your Wallet to Your VeeFriends ProfileLinking your wallet to your VeeFriends profile ensures you can:Claim token-based benefits: From limited-edition drops to early access opportunities, many VeeFriends experiences are token-gated and require wallet verification.Receive discounts or offers tied to your tokens: Some products or experiences may only be available to token holders, or offered at a special rate based on what you own.Be eligible for surprise and delight moments: Community engagement often includes unannounced perks, gifts, and moments of recognition for holders… but only if your wallet is linked. How to Link Wallet(s) to Your VeeFriends AccountYou can link your wallet when you first create your VeeFriends Profile or add it at any time by editing your profile settings. There are two wallet types you can link: hot wallets and cold wallets. We’ll break down both below:Linking a Hot WalletHot wallets include browser-based and mobile wallets like MetaMask, Rainbow, and Coinbase Wallet. These are the most common types of wallets used for everyday interaction with Web3 applications.https://medium.com/media/53329de8c344fe2c0fb7c6cebf56cd9b/hrefVisit veefriends.com and click the “Connect Wallet” button.Select Hot Wallet from the options presented. You’ll be prompted to sign a message in your wallet. This is a secure signature request that confirms you own the wallet. There are no gas fees involved.Once signed, your wallet will be linked to your profile. You will not need to repeat this step for future interactions unless you remove the wallet from your account.Hot wallet linking is fast, straightforward, and provides immediate verification.Linking a Cold WalletCold wallets such as Ledger or Trezor devices provide a high level of security by keeping your private keys offline. Recognizing the importance of cold storage for collectors and long-term holders, VeeFriends offers a way to verify cold wallets without ever needing to connect them directly to the website. This method uses a secure, one-time Trial Deposit system.https://medium.com/media/acf457e56e44ad10c7b231ddec49d74f/hrefGo to veefriends.com and click the “Connect Wallet” button.Select Cold Wallet from the available options. The site will display a unique ETH amount — a small, randomized value less than $0.001 USD (excluding gas). You must send that exact amount of ETH from your cold wallet to the verification address: veefriends-verify.ethOnce received, your cold wallet is successfully linked — and will appear in your VeeFriends Profile under your linked wallets. This method gives you the security of cold storage while still verifying ownership of your NFTs on-chain.Important: Always copy the exact ETH amount and wallet address directly from the website. Even the smallest deviation can result in verification failure.Manage Your Wallets AnytimeOnce your wallet is linked, you can manage it easily through your VeeFriends Profile. Navigate to the Wallets section under Edit Profile to:Add or remove hot and cold walletsUpdate your primary wallet for token trackingKeep your account aligned with your on-chain assetsThere’s no limit to how many wallets you can associate and you can change them at any time.Head to veefriends.com, sign in or create your profile, and link your wallet today. How to Link Your Digital Wallet to Your VeeFriends Account And Why It’s Essential was originally published in VeeFriends on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

- ‘Can you steal back something that’s already stolen?’: how radical art duo Looty repatriated the Rosetta Stoneby Alexander Durie on April 25, 2024
Tired of colonial artefacts being hoarded, Chidi Nwaubani and Ahmed Abokor use tech to redistribute them from museums in audacious digital heistsIn March last year, two men in tracksuits, wearing hockey masks and carrying matching laundry bags, headed for the British Museum. Just outside, patrolling police asked the two strange-looking men where they were going. “We’re going to the British Museum to loot back stolen goods,” one of them said. “Well, we’ll see you in there then!” the policewoman answered. But no arrests were made, as nothing incriminating happened. What did take place was a “digital heist” of one of the most famous objects in the British Museum, an artefact that is, according to Egyptologist Monica Hanna, “a symbol of western cultural power” and “of British imperialism”: the Rosetta Stone. - Marvel, crypto, Tucker Carlson: eight of 2023’s most spectacular downfallsby Owen Myers on December 19, 2023
Experts on tech, politics and culture weigh in on the year the hype faded and what could come nextRemember 2022? Elon Musk had just been named Time’s Person of The Year, Marvel still ruled the box office, Tucker Carlson was the most-watched host on cable news and it seemed as if all of life was going to take place on the blockchain (the Staples Center in LA had been rechristened the Crypto.com arena, and Yuga Labs, the company behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, was valued at $4bn).What a difference a year makes: 2023 has seen the crash of digital currency, the flatlining of NFTs, and the floundering of blockbuster franchises. Previously beloved musicians took on a more sinister edge, a celebrated social network imploded, and a TV show became the biggest “faceplant” in a network’s five-decade history. Below, experts from the worlds of tech, politics, and the arts give the inside track on the sacred cows that have been put out to pasture, the buzzy upstarts that faced a reckoning, and the lessons that can be learned for the future. I kept practising saying, “No, it’s actually quite cool! It’s good. And it only cost me about as much as a car!” in the mirror a lot, with a ghoulish rictus grin.NFT, as was probably explained to you hundreds of times in the period from January 2021 to about May 2022, stands for “non-fungible token”, and essentially means that you can buy a code that says you own a digital asset, which is then stored on the blockchain, a sort of centralised public transaction ledger. There was a lot of hyped future uses for this technology, but for the most part it was used to buy jpegs of monkeys, or maybe sometimes a lion. Continue reading...

- Crypto was supposed to solve financial corruption. The FTX scandal shows it’s got worse | David A Banksby David A Banks on December 15, 2022
The collapse of the feted company should provide a wake-up call to Rishi Sunak, who has been singing the praises of cryptocurrenciesOn 11 November 2022 FTX declared bankruptcy. The firm was once heralded as the Goldman Sachs of crypto, and its CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried, was deemed by some the next Warren Buffett. And now, just after proclaiming in an interview that he would not be arrested, he is in custody in the Bahamas awaiting extradition to the US. He is charged with a litany of fraud and campaign finance law violations, in what US prosecutors are calling “one of the biggest financial frauds in American history”.Casual investors, along with funders ranging from the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan to BlackRock, who invested millions into FTX, are now uncertain where their money went and if they will ever get it back. Amid a long series of scandals and collapses, this seems to be the one that has undermined trust of and within the cryptocurrency sector. This is far from over and if you want to keep up on it, researcher Molly White has made an excellent chart where you can watch the contagion spread.David A Banks is the director of globalisation studies at the University at Albany, SUNY and is the author of The City Authentic: How the Attention Economy Builds Urban America Continue reading...

- Multi-Wallet Profile: manage all your NFTs across different blockchains under one account on…by Rarible on March 17, 2022
Multi-Wallet Profile: manage all your NFTs across different blockchains under one account on Rarible.comMo’ blockchains, mo’ problems. If you have crypto assets on multiple blockchains and/or wallets, you know how hard it might be to stay on top of everything. As Rarible.com continues to grow as a multi-chain marketplace, logging in and out with different wallets to manage your NFTs might get annoying. That’s why we built the Multi-Wallet Profile! The concept is simple: You can now add wallets from any Rarible-supported blockchain to one Rarible profile where you can see and manage all your NFTs.A Multi-wallet profile supports up to 20 wallets connected to any blockchain available on Rarible.com. So whether you’re using multiple chains or if you’ve got a vault wallet and a hot wallet, you’ll find the new feature useful. How to set up a Multi-wallet profile (quick version)Pick your most active wallet. Use it to log into your existing Rarible.com profile. This will serve as the foundation for your Multi-wallet profile. We advise prioritizing profiles with verified wallets to keep the checkmarkClick “Manage wallets” in the user menuStart linking wallets, one at a time. It can be wallets from multiple chains, and/or multiple wallets from a single chain depending on your needs. The wallet/blockchain has to be supported by Rarible.comWhen you start merging wallets (i.e. adding new wallets to your Multi-wallet account), all your followings, followers, activity and likes will be combined and merged with the main profile. After the merge, some information associated with those wallets on Rarible.com gets wiped. That DOES NOT apply to your NFTs.Your NFTs never move during the merging process, or get affected in any way. After merging, they will all be displayed under your Multi-wallet profile. Depending on the amount of NFTs across your merged wallets, it might take some time to show them all — so don’t worry if you can’t see them right away. How to set up a Multi-wallet profile (detailed version)See above for the TL;DR version on setting up a Multi-wallet profile. This section, in turn, will explain the basic mechanics behind the merging process in more detail. To set up a Multi-wallet profile, you don’t have to create a new account. Your Multi-wallet profile can be based on any existing profile on Rarible.com, regardless of the blockchain and wallet provider. To start, log into your existing Rarible.com profile and click “Manage wallets” in the user menu — or, if you don’t have an existing profile, create one first.Keep in mind that all Ethereum wallets created via Metamask will be displayed as Ethereum + Polygon wallets because they share the same address, and vice versa. Eventually that will apply to all Ethereum and Polygon wallets, regardless of the service they were created with.We advise creating your Multi-wallet profile on a verified profile if you already have one — that way, you can keep your yellow check-mark and get all the privileges of a verified member (including the extra cool factor).Say, you have a verified profile on Rarible.com that is associated with your Ethereum wallet. You also have a non-verified Tezos wallet. You can add the Tezos wallet to a Multi-wallet profile associated with your Ethereum wallet and stay verified.Important: When you start merging wallets (i.e. adding new wallets to your account), all your followings, followers, and likes will be combined and merged with the main wallet. The profiles associated with the wallets you’re merging with will essentially be deleted (this does not affect your NFTs). All information, including your activity, will be transferred to your main (Multi-wallet) profile. Specifically, your email, short link, bio, Twitter and Instagram links will be deleted from previous profiles. You’ll keep the information from the profile you initiated the merge from.To sum up, only your profile data gets deleted. Your wallet and NFTs will remain in your full possession. As you merge wallets your NFTs don’t move, they’ll still be stored in their respective wallets. It might take some time before show up after the merge, depending on the amount of NFTs you have across those wallets. You can then sort them by blockchain. How to mint NFTs from a Multi-wallet profileWhen you mint with a Multi-wallet profile, you can choose from different wallets under one blockchain (you’ll have to choose the blockchain you want to mint on before that — and connect a fitting wallet from your Multi-wallet profile). Other than that, the process stays the same. How to trade NFTs from a Multi-wallet profileTrading is also largely identical compared to single profiles, except for few minor nuances. Imagine you have two wallets from one blockchain connected to your Multi-wallet profile. Two Ethereum + Polygon wallets, A and B. Wallet A has an NFT you’re selling. If you’ve selected Wallet B and receive a bid for that NFT, you’ll be asked to switch back to wallet A to accept the bid/change the sale price/remove that NFT from sale and so on.Also, if you have several wallets from the same blockchain under your Multi-wallet profile, you can have multiple editions of one NFT from those different wallets — but the Owner/History tab for that NFT will display the wallet addresses, not your profile name, to avoid confusion.Sounds exciting? Head over to Rarible.com to create your Multi-wallet profile today 💛

- Celebrating Valentine’s in the Metaverse with a Curated Drop Centered Around Loveby Rarible on February 21, 2022
On the day of love, we wanted to recognize that it has no limits. That’s why we highlighted love with a special curated drop on 14 February. Titled “L is for LGBTQIA+ & LOVE”, the drop was featured on our homepage and had its very own metaverse exhibition 🎉The exhibition and art pieces are curated by Benny Or, a metaverse designer and co-creator of The Meeting Place and David Cash, a Web3 strategist and founder of Cash Labs. Together, they’ve curated an exhibition that celebrates LGBTQIA+ voices in the NFT space and explores “the various facets in which love can exist,” as Benny Or puts it.“L is for LGBTQIA+ & LOVE” features works of numerous artists, namely SamJ, Foodmasku, Mike Ruiz, Jake Cormack, Hawkward, Laurel Charleston, Jessica Yatrofsky, Nicole Ruggeiro and Adam Nathaniel Furman, who explore varying notions of identity and self-expression in their own unique ways.“No two artists in this curated drop are at all similar- and this was intentional”, David Cash says about the lineup. “From Foodmasku’s surrealist performance art imagery to Mike Ruiz’s stunning editorial photography- we’re exploring a range of queer expressions exploring human connection and identity”.The drop was accompanied by two live events, a Twitter Spaces session hosted by Rarible at 6PM GMT and a metaverse exhibition at The Meeting Place at 6PM-8PM GMT. The latter is also a great way to celebrate Valentine’s with your significant other — or meet new people in the boundless Web3 world. But who could explain the drop better than the curators themselves? Here’s a short interview we did with Benny and David:What’s the main idea behind ‘L is for LGBTQIA+ & LOVE’?Benny: The exhibition is about the celebration of LGBTQIA+ voices in the NFT space, and it explores the various facets in which love can exist.David: Valentine’s day has become such a heteronormative ritual in the public sphere. When Holly from Rarible approached me to curate a Valentine’s day drop, she had already considered perpetuating a queer narrative — something that instantly drew me to the project. On a day about love, what better a mission than to represent non- “traditional” representations of love? So, in order to assemble a curated variety of expressions of romance and affection, we’ve assembled ten LGBTQIA+ identifying NFT artists — each with a unique take on expressing love and sexuality. What do you think we can all do as NFT community members to make the space more inclusive?Benny: Support for the community can come in many ways, from uplifting artists by sharing and promoting their work to supporting them directly by acquiring their work. I think showing up is also very important. We show our support in the traditional art world by attending exhibitions and openings. In the digital world, we should also be doing the same whether it be Twitter Spaces or virtual exhibitions.David: It is always valuable to consider our privilege and help support underrepresented artists who are entering the space. Give LGBTQIA+ artists space in your stages on Twitter and Clubhouse, like and comment on their social media posts, and- despite potential feedback- repost their work on Twitter and your stories and show your support in a tangible way.Queer artists come from a range of backgrounds and have important stories to tell- let’s make an effort to allow underrepresented artists to take up more space and have confidence in their work and respective practices. Can you recommend any cool ways to celebrate Valentine’s in the metaverse?Benny: My co-founder and husband Cristian Andres is visiting Family in Chile right now, so we will actually be spending our Valentine’s Day together in the Metaverse. There’s an intimacy in spending time together in VR that you don’t get through Facetime and Zoom calls. So I would recommend those divided by physical distance meet each other in the Metaverse and explore what it offers. Come to the show for a cute metaverse art date and support our artists.David: The metaverse allows us to connect all over the world. If you happen to be alone this valentines day- hope on Tinder or Grindr and meet someone in the metaverse! Alternatively, if you’re in a long-distance relationship you can also plan a day of romantic activities in various metaverse solutions. And even if you’re together with your romantic partner, consider integrating a VR or AR experience into your plans for a Web3 edge to your Valentine’s day.Would you like to share anything else on this day?Benny: Many of us, including myself, are new to the space. At first, it can seem overwhelming, but the beauty of art is not solely in the work itself but also the conversations, camaraderie, and communities. Even as I was putting this exhibition together, I already began to feel less alone on this journey. I hope that as people visit the show over the next few days, they will also share that sentiment and potentially even meet a few new friends and collaborators along the way.David: I believe love has no gender- all of these artists identify all along the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. I find it exciting to consider the collection as a whole and encourage collectors of one artist to consider the contrasting, and complimentary, works of the other artists in the collection.
- 6 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do on Rarible.comby Rarible on February 21, 2022
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably listed, bought, and sold on Rarible before. And if you haven’t, you should (in our mostly unbiased opinion 🙂).In any case, we want you to have a great experience on our platform. So in this article, we’ll show you 6 awesome things you may have missed on Rarible so far:Create NFTs for freeConnect with your favorite Rarible users on our messengerMake your Ethereum NFTs carbon-negativeIsolate the signal from the noise by following friends, artists, and collectorsCollect royalties from sales on Rarible.com (even if you didn’t create your collection with us)Submit a floor bid to join your favorite communityReady to get started? Let’s dive in!1) Create NFTs for freeDid you know you can mint on Rarible without paying a penny? And not only that: you can do it in two different ways.Lazy Minting on EthereumA while back, our magician coders implemented something called “Lazy Minting”.Lazy minting allows you to mint a token on Rarible without creating a blockchain entry. That way, you skip the gas fees to create your NFT.There is a tweak to it: whoever buys or transfers your NFT first will pay the gas fees. So Lazy Minting will cost your fans extra. While paying no gas is awesome, we only recommend it for your first few NFTs on Ethereum. How do you lazy mint NFTs on Rarible? Simply switch on “Free minting” during the creation process.Mint for free on FlowFlow is a super-efficient blockchain tailor-made for NFTs. That means gas fees are only a fraction of a cent. But it gets better: When we integrated Flow, we decided to cover those fees for every Flow NFT created on Rarible. That way, you don’t have to buy FLOW tokens and send them to your wallet just to pay $0.00001 to mint an NFT.2) Connect With Your Favorite Rarible Users on our MessengerWe love NFTs so much we built a whole company for them. But we can’t deny when something’s a little clunky. There’s a big challenge in buying, trading and selling NFTs: Communication. In the “real world”, trading is easy:Think the price is too high? Tell them how much you’re willing to payWant to buy something that’s not for sale? You can ask how much it would takeNeed to know more about what you’re buying? Ask away! But how does that work when you only know the other person’s wallet address? It doesn’t. Or didn’t.Because we created Rarible Messenger, the first-ever cross-chain wallet-to-wallet messaging service.Whether you want to negotiate, collaborate or connect with others on Rarible — now you can.How to use Rarible MessengerConnecting with artists, collectors and friends is easy:Navigate to the profile you’d like to message.2. Click “Send message”.3. After the messenger pops up, write your message and hit send.Getting in touch with your favorite artists, collectors and curators is as easy as that!Note: To protect people’s privacy, we have a “message requests” folder for messages from people you don’t follow. If you don’t get a response from someone immediately, this is probably where your message went.3) Make Your Ethereum NFTs Carbon-NegativeThere’s no way around it: Proof of work blockchains consume a lot of energy.Ethereum transitions to proof of stake to reduce its energy consumption. But we want to enable you to create, buy and sell NFTs with a clear conscience now. That’s why we partnered with Nori for carbon removal. The feature is simple:Navigate to an Ethereum NFT you own on Rarible.Open the details tab and click “remove carbon”.Check out with our carbon removal partner Nori.Your NFT is now carbon negative (and everyone will see you’ve done a good thing)!4) Isolate the Signal From the Noise by Following Friends, Artists and CollectorsThere are so many NFT collections, nobody can keep up with all of them. It’s overwhelming to see dozens of new artists and collections every day. That’s why we created the follow feature and the “following” view. It’s as simple as it sounds:Follow your favorite collectors, artists and friends on Rarible. Then you can click “following” on the home page to only see their activity. That way, you get a curated feed of the art and collections you love most.5) Collect Royalties from sales on Rarible.com (Even if You Didn’t Create Your Collection Here)You’ve created a collection outside of Rarible? You can still own it and earn royalties on our marketplace! Here’s how easy it is:Find your collection on Rarible.Click the three dots and hit “claim ownership”. If you’re signed in with the right wallet, you’ll get a success message.3. You now control your collection on Rarible. You can add a description, upload a profile picture, set royalties, and more.Royalties? Yes! Click the three dots again and you’ll see the option to set royalties. Click that option and choose the settings you want. You can even create split royalties. That means you can give a community vault, team members or collaborators their fair share.6) Submit a Floor bid to Join Your Favorite CommunitySometimes, you want to join a community or own a piece from a great creator — and you don’t care which NFT from the particular collection you will get. That’s why we’re launching floor bids. A floor bid is a bid for any NFT in a collection. Any holder of an NFT in that collection can accept your bid and help you become part of the community you want to join!Wrapping upWe want to build Rarible that you love! If you have any suggestions how we can make your experience, feel free to tweet at us or share your idea in Discord.💛
- Mint your own Tezos collection on Rarible.comby Rarible on January 25, 2022
Since we launched Tezos at the end of 2021, many awesome creators minted their art as part of the Rarible collection. We enjoyed seeing artists embrace #cleanNFTs and low minting fees on Tezos. We follow through on our New Year’s resolutions, so we’re continuing our Tezos integration:Last week, we integrated additional Tezos collections — meaning you can now list and trade Tezzards, HEN, and objkt items on Rarible. This week, we shipped custom collections. Collections are like a folder. If you mint on the big Rarible collection, your work is in the same place as many others. That’s awesome because it saves you fees and lets you start quickly. But with your own collection, your fans can access your (and only your) NFTs at the click of a button. That makes buying, selling and collecting easier and more fun.Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? We hate to say it, but there’s a (small) catch:At current prices, minting an NFT on Tezos costs around $0.20. Creating your own collection costs you roughly 3ꜩ once (about $8 at today’s XTZ price). After that, adding NFTs to your collection is back to roughly $0.20.Want to get started? Here’s how to create your own collection on TezosLog into your Tezos wallet on Rarible.com, click “Create” in the top right corner and select Tezos.Scroll down and click “Create — TEZOS-MT”.Fill in all the information. The “Symbol” field is like an abbreviation for your collection, but won’t show up anywhere for your buyers. Feel free to copy your collection name or use a few letters from it (the maximum is 10 characters).Hit “Create Collection” to deploy your very own smart contract. After you confirm the transaction in your wallet, your smart contract will be live in 5–10 minutes. After that, you’ve got your very own Tezos collection that makes it easy for your fans to find and collect your work. Can’t wait to get started? Head to Rarible.com now and create your own Tezos collection!
- Following the community vote, $RARI weekly distribution for Rarible.com users ends on 16th Janby Rarible on January 7, 2022
Rarible DAO governance token grows upTL;DR: Good news for $RARI holders! The Rarible DAO community passed a proposal to end weekly $RARI distribution for trading on the Rarible.com marketplace. This will let the Rarible DAO focus and further execute its vision of fueling the next-gen web3 projects.Join Rarible DAO Discord to stay tuned for the exciting updates to come in the next few weeks! If you’ve read the TL;DR, you’re probably wondering why the weekly $RARI airdrop is ending. We figured that might require a few words of explanation.Looking backWeb3 is like a time machine. It’s been 18 months since the $RARI token saw the world. Feels like a few years ago! What started as a reward for buyers and sellers on Rarible.com, grew into so much more.Driven by the force of decentralization, we launched open-source and DAO-governed Rarible Protocol and enabled anyone to use our technology on their own website, dApp or NFT project (even if they’ve never used Rarible Marketplace). To foster community ownership, $RARI holders steer the protocol’s direction by proposing changes and voting on them. The Rarible.com team is building on the Rarible Protocol, but so are many others now, including Decentraland, Cyber, Zerion, and more. What’s next$RARI has grown up, and it is time for change. The most recent proposal unanimously facilitates that! The weekly distribution of $RARI token for trading on Rarible.com is ending on January 16th. All payouts will be received during the 2 week period by 28th January. $RARI claim will still be available for you anytime.Rarible DAO grows bigger and stronger, and will continue to work on the Rarible Protocol — and other exciting decentralized projects to come.Whether you have $RARI or not, join the Rarible DAO Discord to be the first to get the upcoming news: https://discord.com/invite/hwy5hQzThis is just the beginning!Much love,Rarible.com team
- Rarible 2021: a Year in Reviewby Rarible on December 30, 2021
The year we went multi-chain, launched Rarible Protocol and released the messenger, among other things.2021 truly was the breakout year for NFTs. From a barely understood abbreviation (hello, right click savers!), it turned into a massive cultural phenomenon adopted by blue chip companies like Adidas and Twitter in a few short months.Just like the NFT space has grown, so has Rarible.com. What started with a few people in a café grew into a passionate team of over 100, and counting! And that team has been busy. In 2021, we’ve shipped more features than ever before, scaled to a multi-chain platform with Flow and Tezos integrations, and watched our community soar on every social media channel. And of course, we couldn’t have done it without you! You are creating Rarible day by day — by using the platform, requesting features, sharing your feedback, being as active and passionate as you are. We’re happy to be a part of the digital ownership transformation, empowering creators and communities on the way to a more sustainable, decentralized future of the web. We’re excited about the growth in 2021 and even more excited to see what’s to come in 2022! As we head into the new year, we prepared a quick recap of the highlights of each month in 2021. Let’s dive right in!January 🤝We kicked off the year by enabling creators to verify their Twitter accounts on Rarible for easier search and identification. To further enhance the community features on Rarible.com, we also launched the personalized Following feed where you can keep track of the latest updates from the creators and collectors you follow.February 🔥In February, as NFTs started to take off (a Beeple piece sold for $6.6 million at the time — it was a much bigger deal back then!), we raised a seed funding round led by CoinFund to get ready for rocket ship growth that soon followed.March 🦄Moving towards the vision of a fluid, interoperable, diverse NFT market, we pre-released an early version of the Rarible Protocol for the NFT Hack hackathon. We also reached 100k followers on Twitter (the number that tripled since!).April ⏰Timed auctions came out, allowing users to set up minimum bid and currencyas well as starting and ending dates of the auction. You can see those ticking on our homepage.June 🚀As one of the first major brands to enter the space, Twitter launched their “140 Collection” with Rarible.com as the marketplace of choice. That month, we also raised $14.2 million in Round A from Venrock Capital, CoinFund, 01 Advisors to fuel further growth.July 😌In the wake of an influx of new users on our platform, we streamlined our support and verification processes to protect and support our creators and collectors on every step of the way.We also increased the file size on the platform up to 100 mb to give you more room for creativity!August 🔨August was a big month: in addition to UX upgrades that enabled users to filter NFTs by collection, sale type, price range and TRAITS (!), we officially released the Rarible Protocol — open source, multichain and community-governed NFT protocol and on-chain indexer that simplifies the go-to-market process for NFT projects and ideas.Rarible mobile app launched on iOS as a great tool for NFT browsing and discovery.September 😍The NFT community loves collabs! That’s why we’ve implemented split royalties — creators who collaborate on a project can now divide secondary sale royalties. As the interest grew, we received more and more questions on how to buy NFTs if you’re entirely new to crypto. That’s why we partnered with Wert to enable credit card payments for Ethereum NFTs!We closed out the month by welcoming Aavegotchi — an play-to-earn game that runs on Polygon — back to Ethereum, accommodating hundreds of cute pixel ghosts. To date, it’s made over $1 million in secondary sales.October 🎏Ethereum gas fees in 2021 are a whole different story. To give creators the opportunity to create NFTs without paying excessive amounts in gas fees and partly offload the network, we released lazy minting! The feature allows buyers to mint NFTs upon purchase, covering the fees.By October, many big players started entering the NFT space. Adobe chose Rarible to partner with on the NFT attribution project aimed at protecting and verifying metadata for digital content created across key Adobe Creative Cloud.November 🌱The future of NFTs is multi-chain! That’s why we integrated the Flow blockchain in November, making Rarible the only NFT marketplace that lets individual creators mint on Flow for near-zero gas fees! But that’s not all: we also first announced our Tezos integration (which went live soon after) and launched a carbon offset campaign with our partner Nori.Mobile app widgets went live on iOS to let you decorate your home screen with your favorite NFTs :)Last but not least, our first multi-chain product, Rarible Messenger, was launched, enabling you to message any wallet on Rarible.com, even if it’s on a different blockchain.December 💛We just couldn’t enter the holiday season without another major release — which is why we launched the Tezos blockchain integration! Developing further as a multi-chain platform, we are excited to give our community the opportunity to use the energy-efficient blockchain with gas fees that cost next to nothing.Shortly after, we rolled out collection statistics so you can always check the floor price, number of holders and other useful info before aping into collectibles — or see how well your favorite jpegs are doing. The final ship of the year came in the midst of the festive season, as our iOS Rarible mobile app now allows you to mint NFTs right from your phone.Around the same time, our Twitter follower count crossed the 300,000 mark — and we couldn’t get a better present from our amazing community.See you in 2022!We’re looking forward to the next year together! Join the party, if you haven’t yet:Follow Rarible on TwitterJoin Rarible DiscordBecome part of the Rarible team (we’re hiring!)Happy holidays! ✨
- Tezos is live on Rarible.com!by Rarible on December 15, 2021
Tezos is live on Rarible.com! Check out Blazing Futures community drop, Ubisoft NFTs — and start mintingDiscover the energy-efficient blockchain with gas fees that cost next to nothing.Tezos blockchain is now live on Rarible.com! That means you can start buying, selling and creating energy efficient NFTs with gas fees at just a few cents.Tezos has therefore become the third blockchain supported by our multi-chain marketplace, joining the ranks of Ethereum and Flow. While three is definitely a magic number, we’re already working on more integrations to continue our bigger cross-chain push to give you wider access to all your favorite collections, artists and communities, so stay tuned!Meanwhile, to celebrate the launch, we’ve prepared a handy guide that will navigate you through what you can do with Tezos on Rarible.com and preview some exciting activations we have in the pipeline.Discover the Blazing Futures drop by Tezos communityStarting today, an exclusive Tezos community drop is available on Rarible.com.Titled ‘Blazing Futures’ and curated by Diane Drubay, it offers ten interpretations of the future of art, society and crypto. Those unique works are authored by ten prominent Tezos creators, each available in an edition of ten.Ranging from nostalgic, intentionally kitschy CGI from John Karel, to hazy and surreal art from Jenni Pasanen, the drop also features artists Kelly Richardson, Alex Crouwers, Portrait XO, Memo Akten, The Bad Lament, Joanie Lemercier, and Des Lucréce. With such an amazing and extensive lineup, we’re sure you’ll find something that speaks to you.Trade Ubisoft Quartz NFTsTezos’ high performance, low fees and minimal carbon footprint have fostered a vibrant, passionate NFT community (just have a look at the memes they’ve been making!). It comes as no surprise, then, that major brands have started using Tezos to make their Web3-ready product.French video game giant Ubisoft is the latest such company to partner with Tezos, having just launched Ubisoft Quartz, a platform for players to acquire Digits, the first NFTs playable in AAA games, starting with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint.Digits are released as part of limited editions each composed of a fixed number of items that represent vehicles, weapons, and pieces of equipment, among other things. We’re excited to announce that Rarible will immediately support secondary sales for Digits, meaning that you can still acquire those playable NFTs even if you missed the original drop!Discover Ubisoft Quartz CollectionPrepare to explore the boundless world of TezosWe are releasing the Tezos integration in two phases. Phase one, which is already live, enables you to mint, buy and sell NFTs as part of the Rarible collection and trade the Ubisoft Digits NFTs.Phase two, which will be released shortly, will introduce additional features, namely the ability to mint your own collection via custom contracts and add royalties to imported collections like Tezzards, Gemz and other exciting projects we’ve seen emerge on Tezos over the past couple of months (we can’t wait to see them on our homepage!)To start browsing through Tezos NFTs on Rarible.com right now, simply hit ‘Explore’ at the top near the search bar and select Tezos.Once you do that, your feed will start displaying Tezos NFTs, denominated either in xtz — the blockchain’s native token — or eurTZ, the network’s stablecoin pegged to Euro.Mint your first Tezos NFTTo create or trade Tezos NFTs, you’ll need to set up a Tezos wallet (note that it’s a different type of wallet, so you can’t use your Ethereum one).Click “sign in” at the top right, and then select Beacon from the list of supported wallets (it’s displayed with a Tezos badge for visibility). While you can choose from several different Tezos wallets, we recommend choosing Temple as it’s currently the most stable option. Once you’ve set up your wallet on Tezos, connect it with Rarible.com.To mint a Tezos NFT, click ‘Create’ and select Tezos. Then simply follow the instructions. Currently, you can only mint NFTs as part of the Rarible Multiples collection — but we’ll soon start supporting custom contracts for separate collections. Also, please note that you can only mint multiples on Tezos blockchain by design — but you can still limit the number of editions to just one.Other awesome things you can do now that Tezos integration is liveMessage any Tezos wallet directly on the marketplace using the multi chain Rarible MessengerGet your Tezos account verified on Rarible.com within 48 hoursJoin #tezos channel on Rarible Discord to learn about new projects, updates and more!

After a ton of excited DMs, mentions and emails, we couldn’t keep it from you any longer.Finding buyers, sellers and creators on social media and jumping between platforms can be frustrating, and the Rarible messenger lets you chat, negotiate and connect without leaving the site. It allows you to DM anyone from their profile page. With the messenger, you can DM your followers, send alpha to your collectors, reach out to your favorite artists about collabs, and much more!By the way, Rarible messenger is also the most easy-to-use wallet-to-wallet messaging app to date, and we’re sure you’ll love it too!How to use itLog into your Rarible accountClick on the messenger icon at the top rightSign the transaction confirming your sign in (don’t worry, it’s free!)Voila — you can start messaging people depending on their privacy settingsFind the user you want to reach and say gm, wagmi, drop them an emoji — or whatever you feel like!Safety and privacy first 👌Don’t worry about your DMs getting flooded! You can adjust your privacy settings to protect yourself from unwanted messages.By default, you will only receive DMs from people you follow on Rarible in your inbox. You’ll find other messages in your message requests — a separate tab you don’t get notifications from.To check if someone you don’t follow wants to slide into your DMs, click on the drop down symbol at the left corner and select “Requests”.You can also completely block DMs from people you don’t follow and not receive them at all. What’s nextWe have a lot of cool features in the pipeline, such as group chats. While we’re rolling it out as a built-in marketplace messaging tool, our ultimate goal is to release it as a standalone app to solve the blockchain messaging issue at its core, providing a decentralized and user-friendly solution for everyone out there. That’s it for now! Now go find your friends on Rarible.com and wish them GM ☀️
- GM, Miami! Announcing Tezos integration, Nori carbon removal partnership, Women Rise collectionby Rarible on November 30, 2021
GM, Miami! Announcing Tezos integration, Nori carbon removal partnership, Women Rise collection launch ☀️Building an open digital world where Anything is Possible and All are WelcomeHello, Rarible fam! When we launched in 2019, NFT conferences were small huddles of crypto people. This week, we’re at FTX Arena in Miami for Art Basel, where NFTs draw the attention of thousands of well-known artists, entrepreneurs and collectors. As the NFT world has grown, so has Rarible: what started as the first open platform to experiment and have fun with NFTs is now a vibrant community of creators, collectors and builders — and we’re grateful for every single one who’s been on this journey with us!What hasn’t changed is our commitment to building an open platform that enables digital ownership for everyone. That’s why we’re so excited to share some announcements with you today! Each of these updates takes us further down the road to a more inclusive and sustainable future where anything is possible and all are welcome.Without further ado, we’re thrilled to announce that:Rarible.com will integrate energy-efficient Tezos blockchain mid-December 2021.We have partnered up with Nori to let users remove the carbon footprint for NFTs minted on Rarible.comIn light of Giving Tuesday, Rarible will cover the cost of all carbon removal for NFTs minted on Ethereum on Rarible.com November 30th to December 5thRarible.com is supporting the launch of the Women Rise NFT movement collection to celebrate diversity and groundbreaking womenIf you’re in Miami this week, come meet us at NFT BZL and DCentral to celebrate. If you’re new to the party, welcome! Head over here About to find out more about Rarible’s story. Now, let’s dive into each update. LFG!Tezos blockchain integration reduces energy consumption and welcomes a wave of new creators and collectorsWe all know it, but we don’t talk about it enough: Proof-of-work Blockchains consume a lot of energy. But there’s room for optimism: Ethereum 2.0 promises to lower the chain’s energy consumption by 99.95% by adopting proof-of-stake as its consensus mechanism. But proof-of-stake blockchains already exist. They use far less energy and have attracted incredible creators and collectors. That’s why we’re happy that Rarible is evolving to become a multi-chain NFT marketplace that lowers the barrier to create, buy and sell digital assets with a smaller carbon footprint.By integrating proof-of-stake blockchains that consume significantly less energy than Ethereum, we can build a sustainable future of digital ownership for everyone. So we’re excited to welcome Tezos’ community of collectors, creators and builders to Rarible! On proof-of-stake blockchains like Tezos, NFTs become not only more sustainable, but also more accessible: with much lower gas fees, more creators can mint and sell their NFTs on Rarible — and more collectors can own and proudly display their favorite creators’ work. We’re thrilled that Tezos will be integrated into Rarible.com as soon as December, and ready to welcome the fantastic Tezos NFT community to the marketplace.Learn more about Tezos here, and stay tuned for updates on timing!Partnership with Nori for carbon-neutral Ethereum mintingAs the NFT space grows, so does its carbon footprint. It’s an unfortunate reality, but we can do something about it. That’s why we’re proactively addressing climate concerns. We’re happy to announce our partnership and upcoming integration with Nori, which will soon let Rarible.com users make their NFTs carbon-negative at the click of a button. We’re so happy about this, we’ll pay for you to try it out:In light of Giving Tuesday, Rarible will cover the cost of carbon removal for any NFT minted on Ethereum via Rarible Tuesday, November 30th through Sunday, December 5th.Learn more about Nori here.Celebrating diversity with Women Rise movementWe want to unlock creative freedom and expression for everyone.
