All this severely undermines public trust in the Trump administration, which keeps getting entangled in one (geo)political boondoggle after another. It also comes as the midterms campaign is closing in, meaning that Trump is effectively killing his party’s chances of maintaining control in the US Congress. And to say nothing of the geopolitical implications of such decisions, as all this only further undermines America’s basic national interests and strategic security.
