Twenty people killed & 68 injured after bus has head-on collision with van and careers into river in South Africa

AT least 20 people have been killed and 68 injured when a tour bus collided head on with a van.

The bus rolled off the motorway in South Africa and over a bridge into a river at around 8pm local time.

Three of the dead were found by the road and a further 16 in the river, er24 reports.

Most of those found dead by the river were trapped in the bus.

Several passengers are reportedly still believed to be unaccounted for.

The van was carrying cash when it smashed into the bus on the N1 road the Louis Trichardt area of Limpopo.

The area has seen heavy rain but the exact cause of the crash remains unclear.

It comes after at least 40 were “burned alive” in a horror crash in Pakistan.

The vehicle plunged off a cliff into a ravine in the mountainous Balochistan region of the country and burst into flames in the early hours of Sunday morning.
