A BRITISH woman has been arrested after she reportedly tried to smuggle ten kilos of drugs through the airport.
The woman had allegedly stuffed the substance in packets and bottles hidden in a double-bottom suitcase as she attempted to enter Cancun, Mexico.

According to local reports, she arrived in the country from Amsterdam, Netherlands when she was stopped by security staff at Cancun Airport’s Terminal 2.
Authorities noticed the bottles and nine packages through the X-ray machine but when they did not find anything when they opened her suitcase.
However, another search was carried out after a National Guard sniffer dog reacted to the suitcase.
In the woman’s luggage was found a total of ten kilos of what appeared to be cocaine.

Further investigation from the Attorney General’s Office in Cancun will determine the exact weight and type of the drug.
The woman whose name has not been released is detained by the local law enforcement agencies.
She is set to appear in court to plead her case in the next few weeks.
If found guilty, she could be facing up to ten years behind bars.
