Danville Police Department announced that a 13-year-old has been charged this week with first-degree murder after allegedly suffocating their 4-year-old sibling in August 2022. The names of the suspect and victim have been withheld.
The incident occurred in August of 2022 when police responded to the siblings’ home and discovered the 4-year-old child without a pulse. The child was brought to a nearby hospital and then airlifted to another hospital, where they later passed away.
The charge was based on the juvenile’s confession about suffocating the victim earlier this week and was finalized following further investigation. The teen will be transferred to a Detention Center in Danville, Virginia.
